User Agreement.  When you use our products and services, you are agreeing to our terms, so please examine our User Agreement below.  

License Grant.  All content available for purchase and download on this website is owned and copyrighted by Silver Ink Publishing.  Any content purchased herein is for a single user license only.  If multiple users are required, additional licenses must be purchased.  Silver Ink Publishing grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to download and use purchased content (hereinafter “Product”) on a single owned or controlled by You, and to access and use the downloaded product on such device strictly in accordance with the terms and conditions of this License, the Usage Rules and any service agreement associated with your device (collectively “Related Agreements”).

Restrictions on Use.  You shall use any downloaded Product strictly in accordance with the terms of the Related Agreements and shall not: (a) decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, or decrypt the Product; (b) make any modification, adaptation, improvement, enhancement, translation or derivative work from the Product; (c) violate any applicable laws, rules or regulations in connection with your access or use of the Product; (d) remove, alter or obscure any proprietary notice (including any notice of copyright or trademark) of Silver Ink Publishing or its affiliates, partners, suppliers or licensors of the Product; (e) use the Product for any revenue generating endeavor, commercial enterprise, or other purpose for which it is not designed or intended; (f) make the Product available over a network or other environment permitting access or use by multiple devices or users at the same time; (g) use the Product for creating a product, service or software that is, directly or indirectly, competitive with or in any way a substitute for any service, product, or software offered by Silver Ink Publishing.

Disclaimer of Warranties.  You acknowledge and agree that any Products purchased from Silver Ink Publishing are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and that your use of or reliance upon any Product is at your sole risk and discretion.  Silver Ink Publishing and its affiliates, partners, suppliers and licensors hereby disclaim any and all representations, warranties and guaranties regarding the Product, whether express, implied or statutory, and including, without limitations, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.  

Limitation of Liability.  Under no circumstances shall Silver Ink Publishing or its affiliates, partners, suppliers or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your access or use of or inability to access or use the product.

This website is owned and operated by Silver Ink Publishing.  Silver Ink Publishing provides digital and print content for educators that empowers families to support learning at home.  Silver Ink is committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Notice tells you about our collections, use, and disclosure of your personal data.  This Privacy Notice applies to information we collect when you use silverinkpublishing.com and any other websites, mobile applications or services that post a link to this Privacy Notice.  This Privacy Notice describes how Silver Ink Publishing, 917 Beau Road, Shelby, North Carolina 28152, collects, uses, and shares service-related information about you.  This Privacy Notice does not apply to information or data about you collected or received outside of the website except to the extent it is combined with information or data collected by us via the website.  

Personal Data Collected

Silver Ink Publishing may collect personal data about you in the following ways:

Comments.  When visitors leave comments on this website, we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.  An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.  The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here:  https://automatic.com/privacy.  After approval of your comments, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.  

Contact Forms.  Silver Ink Publishing may collect and store limited personal data such as your email address or other contact information when a contact form is submitted.  This information will be processed and sorted only for the period necessary to achieve the customer service purpose, or as permitted by law. This is necessary to achieve our interests of providing excellent customer service, improving or developing new products, and maximizing efficiency.  

Cookies.  If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies.  These are for your convenience so that you do not have to provide your details again when you leave another comment.  These cookies will last for one year.  If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies.  This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.  When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices.  Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year.  If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks.  If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

eCommerce.  We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.  When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password.  We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

Data Protection.  Your data is protected through modern security standards, at the 128-bit encryption level.  

Data Sharing.  The Site may contain links to other websites or refer our users to other resources.  We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites or resources, and our users should refer to such websites and resources for information about how such sites and resources protect the information they collect.  Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, such as Akismet or another similar service.

We may also share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you. We accept payments through Stripe’s payment processing gateway.  When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Data Retention.  For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.  All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).  Website administrators can also see and edit that information.  We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it.  For example, we will store order information for at least seven years for tax and accounting purposes.  This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.  If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.  This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.  

Your Rights.  If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive and exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.  You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.  This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
