One Day Staff Development

A strong literacy foundation developed in the early years is essential for reading success. Learn how to use story time, center time, and even play time to build reading readiness skills. Gain a better understanding of reading research and what works in the classroom. Walk away with a variety of activities and strategies that target phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension and learn simple ways to help parents develop reading readiness skills at home.

• Classroom Teachers (PreK – K)

• More At Four, Head Start Teachers

• Title I Teachers

• Reading Coaches & Curriculum Coordinators


Presentation fee:

• $2,000 - plus travel costs and related expenses


School’s Responsibilities:

• Reproduce handout for each participant

• Provide sticky notes and markers

• Media cart and screen for laptop and projector hook up

• Small table at front of room for training materials
